Welcome to Moonridge Institute!
We’re so glad you’ve found your way here.
Moonridge Institute was founded on a simple but powerful belief: those who form the foundation of our society deserve a foundation of their own — a place to live affordably, share resources, and thrive in community.
We’re building something rare and rooted — a multi-generational, land-based village designed for essential workers, artists, culture bearers, first responders, and others whose work sustains the heart of our communities.
Our Vision
Imagine a place where:
- Housing is affordable and stable, not a constant struggle
- Neighbors share gardens, kitchens, and skills
- The land is cared for as a living partner, not just a resource
- Everyone’s contributions — whether through art, caregiving, food, or emergency service — are valued equally
Moonridge Institute exists to bring this vision into reality. We do this through:
- Community Land Trusts to hold land for the common good
- Shared Resources like gardens, orchards, and communal kitchens
- Skillshare Spaces for teaching, learning, and preserving culture
- The Appalachian Village Network to connect aligned projects across the region
Why Moonridge Matters
In a world where the cost of living pushes too many to the margins, we’re planting seeds for a different future — one where community care, shared abundance, and human dignity are the foundation.
We’re starting right here in south-central Pennsylvania, with plans that ripple outward into the Appalachian region. Our first project, Moonridge Hollow, will be the prototype: a thriving intentional village designed to serve both its residents and the broader community.
